Do you plan to vote in the June 30th primary election?

June 8th is the final day for you to change your party affiliation in order to vote in the primary election of the political party of your choice!

  • Unaffiliated voters will receive two ballots (Democratic and Republican) in the mail and can return only one of the two ballots to vote in the primary election of their choice.
  • Registered Democrats will receive only the Democratic primary ballot in the mail.
  • Registered Republicans will receive only the Republican primary ballot in the mail.
  • Those registered with a minor party, such as the Colorado Forward Party, will receive a primary ballot only if there is a primary within their party, and the ballot will have only candidates nominated by their party. (The Colorado Forward Party does not need a primary election in 2026 because we have not nominated more than one candidate for an office.)
  • Unaffiliated voters who want to vote in minor party's primary (instead of the Democratic or Republican primary) can visit their local County Clerk's office or visit any Voter Service and Polling Center in their county and request that minor party's primary ballot. Keep in mind that a minor party might not need a primary election or might not allow unaffiliated voters to participate in their primary election.

If your political activity extends beyond voting in elections (e.g., working as an Election Judge or running for office), please consider the additional implications of changing your party affiliation.

You can confirm your voter registration information, including your party affiliation and mailing address on file, on the Colorado Secretary of State's Find My Voter Registration web page:

Locate your voter registration record and edit your record. To vote in your choice of the Democratic and Republican primary, set your Party Affiliation to 'Unaffiliated'.
