Matt Salka (D) was reelected in 2024 to continue serving on the La Plata County Board of Commissioners.
Matt is a dedicated public servant with over 10 years of experience as an elected official, currently serving as the Chair of the Board of County Commissioners in La Plata County, Colorado. With a deep commitment to his community, Matt has worked tirelessly to improve infrastructure, expand broadband connectivity, and address housing and childcare challenges. He has played a key role in establishing the county’s new public health department, advancing renewable energy projects, and securing critical funding for road and bridge improvements.
Matt brings a wealth of local knowledge and leadership experience to his work. Having has served as a town trustee, mayor, and county commissioner. He will continue his mission of supporting local families, preserving the region's heritage, and fostering a prosperous future for the county.
