Steve Yurash is a Center Party candidate for the state house seat in House District 52 in Fort Collins.
Steve grew up in Palo Alto, California, the heart of Silicon Valley. His first job in high school was the clean-up boy at the local butcher shop. He earned his bachelor's degree in physics from San Jose State and spent 38 years in the computer chip industry, mostly in Design for Test Engineering. Steve brought his family to Fort Collins in 2003.
Steve has served on the Larimer County Board of Health and the Fort Collins Electric Board.
After retiring in 2021 he started working on creating the Colorado Center Party. Steve wants to be the voice for the Moderate Majority in the middle. Steve firmly believes that the Colorado Center Party aligns very well with the values of the Forward Party, standing for good commonsense governance directed by data and science, honesty and integrity, a liberal and compassionate social sensibility and prudence and responsibility with taxpayer’s money. The Colorado Center Party does not have a national presence, and so forging close ties with the Forward Party is an important linkage to reducing the influence of the party elites in the two-party system and help bring a better variety of candidates forward for public service. Supporting the Ranked Choice Voting initiative in Colorado has been very important for Steve and he personally carried petitions to help get it on the ballot. Steve strongly believes that his election victory will send shockwaves through the political establishment in Colorado and open new doors for other 3rd party candidates.
The Colorado Forward Party is delighted to endorse Steve Yurash as a candidate with the integrity, honesty, and willingness to work with others (even from different parties) to best represent their constituency.
